Heaven is For Real by Todd Burpo

When my mom passed away on Thanksgiving Day 2008, I became focused on Heaven and learning all that I could about my eternal home. I read Heaven by Randy Alcorn and found many of his thoughts interesting but found the book too ‘institutional’ for my liking. Sometimes, we need to have faith like a child and hear their perspective to understand the really difficult things. My daughter devoured this book in 24 hours and insisted that I read it. When I picked it up in August 2011, I couldn’t put it down. Todd Burpo’s personal testimony interwoven with his son’s account of Heaven is amazing. I’ve often wondered why Christians don’t seem more excited about spending eternity in Heaven. After reading this book, I find myself more assured that Heaven is for Real and it’s a place we should be really excited about!
